Leyburn to Dayboro (3.5hr 235km)

Scoring the local historic trail booklet on the way back from our unguided tour the day before, built great anticipation for an early morning walk. Unfortunately, there proved to be more walking than viewing (LR’s grumbling could be heard in the distance Lol). Apparently we had found all the good spots already, and the ones we hadn’t…lets just say their hand draw map is less than helpful and could not find several items on the list.

RusticDoors
Rustic Doors, a whole lot of texture and character to be found in old country towns.
Wood Furnature
A hidden treasure found at Leyburn. Leyburn Timber Craft, manufacture & Retail Bush Furniture

Not wanting to finish the trip on a disappointment, we detoured around Toowoomba and took the winding mountain way with a rest stop at lovely mountain hideaway (Heifer Creek). Rumoured to accommodate a lot of wildlife, with even just a quick stop we spotted a gorgeous Goanna. Not much water at the moment but a good swim spot at better times.

Goanna
Heifer creek resident
