Carnarvon Gorge
The options for walks in the Gorge are numerous and well layed out in the Park Guide please note that there has been some recent flooding in the area since our trip in 2013 so you will be up for a whole new experience..I can’t wait to go back.

Having young children and injured other half(he made it about 100m in, a great effort in his state) and only the day for exploring we opted for the shortest trecks the Moss Garden and Amphitheatre. Both did not disappoint as we welcomed the cool of the damp moss garden and adventure of climbing into the crevice to the Amphitheatre.

Children have me sometimes baffled (most of the time actually) no matter how much they winge and whine, they always have endless energy, its all in the distraction. We trecked roughly 9km that day and as you would expect on the way out B5 did his fair share of “carry me”,”carry me” with his I’m dying face on. Yet almost before he finished his breath from his last whine, he spotted the balancing log of the entry(they seem to love climbing…on anything) he was running down the path a hundred miles an hour……” B….B….carry meeeee?”

Keep an eye out for Echidnas as well, we come across three during our walk
The Rock Pool is on your right before you get to the main walks and is where we spent the afternoon. Absolutely beautiful and even comes with a resident turtle that doesn’t seem to mind the company
